Muted Screams

In Argentina a woman dies every 30 hours because of gender violence. Argentina Presidency wanted to raise awareness on the issue and encourage the use of helpline 144 to report cases of violence against women.

On November 25, on the International Day against Gender Violence, through the official account of president Mauricio Macri and other ministers we uploaded three Facebook videos. Videos in which we could see normal and everyday scenes where nothing unusual happened, unless the audio was activated.

In that moment, a woman was heard being beaten by a man.

Considering that, according to Facebook, 85% of the videos in this social network are watched without sound, we used this behavior to demonstrate the importance of getting involved and listening.
